Full Description:
New Software Lets You Call SQL Stored Procedures Effortlessly
Archimetrics, L.L.C. has released SpArk version 1.0, an ActiveX component that greatly simplifies the onerous task of calling SQL server stored procedures.
Calling stored procedures is something that many developers do all the time, but they can't use automated visual programming to do it. Using SpArk, however, a programmer can see context sensitive information about a stored procedure and how it should be used. The procedure can then be executed in one line of code, instead of the many lines it usually requires.
SpArk saves the developer time and money in two ways: There is an immediate and obvious acceleration in code creation because the developer no longer has to remember the details of each stored procedure (names, arguments, data types, return values, and functionality). SpArk also executes the procedure, freeing the developer of the tedium of writing boilerplate stored procedure code. Perhaps more important, SpArk actually helps the developer write better code. In addition to simplifying the developer's work, SpArk catches many types of bugs before they occur, saving time and money through decreased error rates and shorter debugging and maintenance times.
SpArk was designed for use in Visual Basic 6.0, but it can be used in any COM compliant development environment. A .NET version is under development.
Further information, including a free, fully featured evaluation copy of the spArk software, can be found on the Archimetrics web site at http://www.archimetrics.com. The web site also features the complete product documentation. SpArk sells for US$150, unlimited usage.
